Vision - Introduction

It is said that we typically get one chance to make a good first impression.  Of course, we know that our character and what underlies our character (our habits) is more important than first impressions; however, sometimes we don’t get the chance for people to see our character if we make a bad impression.

Working on the goal of building witnessing Christian community in academe involves starting new relationships and starting projects where getting off to a good start can really make a difference. If you get off to a good start, it enables you to call upon relational capital down the road....and ceteris paribus you’ll likely need it. Of course, there is a God who can make up for our foibles, but part of what we are to learn in life is to live wisely.

So begin by looking over the entire range of resources in this section.   Some resources emphasize one thing, while another something else. It’s your assignment to put it all together into a cohesive whole that fits your personality and style of leadership. Because your participation in ministry is really a human participation with the divine, there is the 100% that you contribute and the 100% He contributes. His 100% is more important than yours. It follows then that he doesn’t need us nearly as bad as we need Him--He allows us to participate in His ministry and blesses us for it!

You may want to give me a call and talk about some of these things and I’d be glad to work with you on that. I’ll put a place below where you can send me an email and then we can go from there to set up a phone conversation and beyond. Cheers!
