Vision and Values

As you work on putting together your vision and values, take a look at our example, realizing you can modify it to fit your particular situation:

Academic Connections was founded to help promote the flourishing of Christian scholars and faculty world-wide.

It is the mission of Academic Connections to help create and resource an international network of Christian faculty and scholars principally at secular institutions of higher learning, which will find expression in those local communities.  It is our intention to support and encourage healthy spiritual formation in those Christian communities and networks, advance cultural critique and contribution, and support the creation of thoughtful expressions of Christian scholarship, contributing to the quality and intellectual diversity of those institutions.

Vision

  • Provide vision, resources and leadership to help local Christian academics form and strengthen Christian faculty communities on their campuses world-wide.
  • Provide vision, resources and leadership to help Christian academics form and strengthen Christian communities and societies within particular disciplines both nationally and internationally.
  • Provide vision, resources and leadership in the area of spiritual formation to help Christian academics live out their faith with integrity and integrality.
  • Provide vision, resources and leadership to help Christian academics think Christianly about their academic scholarship and to help publish their work.

Core Values

As we seek to establish our Mission and Vision we dearly hold these core values:

  • That at the center of our thinking and working we place and keep the person of Jesus Christ.
  • That we are free to think outside of the box, but stay within the bounds of Scripture.
  • That we aim to keep the great and foremost command to love the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and strength and a second which is like it, to love our neighbor as ourselves.
  • That our lives and ministry reflect the grace of God that we have received in Jesus Christ, which ends all condemnation, ends life independent of Him and opens a new door to grace filled relationship and fellowship with God and one another.
  • That this grace we have received from God would lead to heartfelt gratitude and an obedience motivated by that grace received.
  • That this grace, which we have received would not end with us as individuals, local communities or as a nation, but would extend to the whole world.
