Resources:

Fastest and most sophisticated (scholarly tools) Bible software available for Mac (primary), but can be run on a PC emulator on a Mac with some tweaks.  Also available for iPad and iPhone.   I would suggest you purchase, as I have, the Scholar’s 9 Standard level  to start.  You can add an incredible number of additional resources by download; there are many, many more tools as you see that you need them.  You will probably also need to subscribe to their iPodcast for this to learn to use the software well and you can subscribe for that from the Help menu with one easy click.

A DOS version with all kinds of installation problems, but it has a very powerful set of Greek and Hebrew search engines which allowed for tons of research options including searching for grammatical constructions.  No longer available (I couldn’t find it on-line anymore), but I used it on my earlier PC laptops for research on the fly.   it was incredibly useful tool in apologetics because I could research language and reference issues so quickly that I was able to settle questions on the spot.  If you purchased it, you could get multiple translations of the Bible, too.   If this interests you, you might check eBay and Amazon books for used software.

A similarly powerful set of software tools (as Accordance above), but mainly for use on PCs instead of Macs.

More along the lines of Bible study aids and enhancements.  Has on-line supplemental stuff, too.

Version 5.0 with all the bells and whistles is pretty expensive but with lots of reference tools at your finger tips.  Not so much a research tool as it is a reference tool.
